doom oom #1
Dec. 23rd, 2007 08:51 pmThe holidays were over, so Lilly was on Coruscant with Inyri.
Inyri had...vaguely gone over what happened with Wes by waving it away mostly and booking them a hotel on Coruscant. The first few days were well needed relaxation (this place had a spa) and general clothes shopping.
It's safe to say that Inyri may have spent most of her pay on new clothes. (Everything she already owned was too kriffing happy she decided. So was her general appearance. And she had to buy more cigarettes.
Really needed more of those.)
She'd left her commlink off the entire time so far. She didn't want to deal with Wes, whether he was calling because he realised he was a kriffing asshole or because he wanted her to get her stuff.
At this point in time, he could suck it.
"So," She calls to Lilly, as she pads around the hotel room, looking for clothes to wear. "Bar tonight, right? Drinking? It's a good thing."

This is essential knowledge for clothing selection.

She moves to go get dressed, quickly, so she can spend more time on makeup and hair!

Date: 2007-12-24 05:24 am (UTC)"Sabacc? Why does that sound familiar?"
She pulls out a few tops.
"Hmmm. See, I need to find a shirt that guarantees free drinks but doesn't mean nonstop harassment. It's a fine line."

Date: 2007-12-26 10:39 pm (UTC)Clearly Inyri knows her territory. Lilly approves.
"I'll take some of your wacky 'credits' too just in case, though."

"She's better than American Express."
She turns to the mirror and surveys herself critically.
"Okay, I look hot, you look hot, let's go ignite some lightsabers."

Date: 2007-12-27 03:20 am (UTC)The bar Inyri has in mind is mid-level. They're on the higher levels, so it's a cab ride and several more lifts till they get there.
When they get there though, it's pretty worth the effort. It's a hole in the wall sort of place; dark and the music pulses, but the drinks are good and the people aren't too unsavoury for the most part.
"Ta-da. S'not much...but enough," Inyri says, over the music.

"So. Who's going to be lucky enough to buy us the first round?"

Date: 2007-12-27 01:11 pm (UTC)Sly looks and just the right amount of bumping into someone usually does the trick. A few eyes follow her back to Lilly, drinks in hand.

Date: 2007-12-28 12:40 am (UTC)Inyri puts the tray on a table before sipping at her drink. She opted for very brightly coloured fruity ones for a start.
"Well, I'm sure we can ignore him."

Date: 2007-12-28 12:44 am (UTC)Lilly tries her drink.
"Hey, this is tasty... even if I'm not sure I recognize the fruit."

"Maybe our next round should be clear."

"At least, I've never been to a universe where it isn't, yet."

Date: 2007-12-28 02:24 am (UTC)And, of course, to enjoy a number of free drinks.
"I think," Lilly says to Inyri sometime later, smiling at someone whose name she's forgotten, "that I like your world without trees."

Date: 2007-12-28 02:32 am (UTC)She grins brightly, eyes a little sparkly from all the alcohol.

"We should come here more often."

Date: 2007-12-28 03:18 am (UTC)Especially not when they've ... got their eye on you. So to speak.
The man Lilly noticed earlier slides through the crowd, smoothly pulling a blaster from beneath his coat. It's ten steps, then five, then three two one and his arm is tight around Inyri's waist and his blaster is pressing under her chin.
"Look who it is! Zekka Thyne's little baby doll come out to play. And down in the midlevels, wonder what you're doing here."
He pauses, digging the blaster deeper into her skin.
"He always did talk about how much of a little conniving bitch you were. Here to kriff some more of us and then shoot them in the back? To be more of a backstabbing whore? You won't get away with that down here, bitch. 'Cause there's a little surprising thing about Thyne that you apparently missed out on. He inspires loyalty."
With that, he spins her around and pushes her away from him. There's a flash of light, a quick humming noise, and then the smell of ozone and burnt flesh.

Date: 2007-12-28 03:24 am (UTC)His words make her feel dirty.
And then it happens too fast. He's pushing her away and then there is only---
pain.
Her hand goes to her stomach as she falls. Screams from the patrons sound around her. It all sounds weird.
bang bang, i hit the ground
The man weaves out of the bar through the panic.
"I've called the hospital," someone shouts and vaguely, far in the background, beyond the hubbub of Coruscant's usual loudness, you can faintly hear the sirens.

Date: 2007-12-28 03:58 am (UTC)Fuck.
Adrenaline and alcohol pound through her veins. She has no weapons, the man's much bigger than she is, the blaster is pressed against Inyri's neck. She's got nothing.
But Skyron, the man she was leaning against? He has a gun.
Lilly fumbles for the blaster and the flicker of movement catches the creepy man's eye. He pushes Inyri away and- and shoots her.
Too late.
There's screams, panic, patrons pushing past her for the exits. Lilly drops to her knees beside Inyri, clutching the blaster in one hand, protecting her friend from the stampede.
Someone yells that they've called the hospital as she reaches out for Inyri's hand.
"Oh god, Inyri. Please hang on? They're getting help."
Please don't let it be too late.

Date: 2007-12-28 04:03 am (UTC)And she tries to grip her hand, fingers slick with blood, but she's not sure if her hand working or not.
But there is something very important that Lilly must remember. Because Inyri has got to tell Intel about this. They need to know about Black Sun's movements.
"Don't...don't," The words are hard to form against this pain and she grimaces and bites down on her lip. "F-forget what he lo-looked like."

Date: 2007-12-28 04:24 am (UTC)"I won't forget, Inyri. I promise."
The man, the moment... she won't forget.

Date: 2007-12-28 04:29 am (UTC)She wakes up just enough to know that she's moving, that someone is putting her on a stretcher and that someone is keeping the crowd at bay as they take her and Lilly to the emergency speeder.
And then it's to the hospital.
