Inyri's outside, smoking.

She does it out here because she's technically quitting...and most of the time she's too lazy to get out of bed or physically make herself go downstairs and out to smoke (especially with her and Wes sharing rooms now, she doesn't like to smoke and make him scowl).

So she's outside, sitting on a bench, legs stretched out in front of her, smoking.

Shalla's outside too, beating on the punching bag Will told her about.

She wishes it was Wes.

Inyri eventually decides to walk around. And she comes up on Shalla, eventually in that walk.

She just stands there for a moment. Then: "You seem mad."

Inyri's voice betrays her own emotions.

Shalla doesn't turn to face Inyri.

Kick, move in close for an elbow to the top of the bag, step back and kick again.

She takes a long drag on her cigarette.

She might flick ash at Shalla's hair.

Still no reaction.

She whirls, dropping and sweeping a foot where a human's legs would be.

There's a slightly tipsy air about the way Inyri watches her.

There's nothing tipsy about the way she grabs Shalla's shoulder to make her turn to look at her, regardless of any swinging arms. "It's only polite to acknowledge people, Nelprin."

She'd been shifting for another kick, and she overbalances when Inyri grabs her. Stumbling slightly, she glares at Inyri.

"Don't touch me."

Then she pulls away and continues what she was doing.

Inyri drops the cigarette into the ground and crushes it with her foot before she pushes Shalla forward. "Kriff you."

Shalla whirls quickly, managing to stop herself from going into the bag.

"What?" she laughs. "Are you trying to start a fight, or something?"

As in bitch please.

"Well if it'll get you to look at me, then sure." Inyri snaps, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "'Course, you'd never lay a finger on me."

"Exactly," she says before turning back to the bag. "So go away."

"No." Inyri grabs her shoulder again, whirling her around. "You want a fight," She growls, "Then here, have a reason to be angry at me other than jealousy."

Words said, she throws a hard punch at Shalla's face.

Shalla drops back, going with the punch and bringing up a flat hand to sweep Inyri's arm away.

"Oh. Ow. I might need to go cry."

Inyri grits her teeth, her cheeks red with anger.

Inyri's small; short and mostly bones. But she knows how to push, after being pushed around for a long time. She grabs Shalla by the shirt and pushes her back till the other woman's back hit the trunk of a tree.

"You need to either say something of value," Inyri snarls, pressing her harder against the tree, "Or shut the kriff up."

Shalla grins dangerously, not moving to push Inyri off. "You wanted me to acknowledge you. This is me doing it. Am I supposed to beg for you to let me go?"

"No," Inyri says, not smiling at all, and that in itself, is dangerous. Something in her jaw ticks. "That would be my job if we were in opposite positions."

One hand snakes to Shalla's neck, cupping her chin more than anything. She blinks her bangs out of her eyes. "What I want is for you to cut it out. You can be mad at me without going out of your way to make me upset."

Shalla pulls her head away from Inyri, shooting her a look.

"Don't touch me," she says again. "You gave that up. Now," she blinks rapidly and sticks out her lower lip. "Please let me go?"

"Wow." She says, her eyes innocently wide. "No wonder Zekka always hit me when I made that face.

it's seriously taking all of her reserve to just let Shalla go. And not slap her hard.

Shalla pulls away, smiling.

"Bye now."

"Shut up. You're going to answer a question before you leave." Inyri grabs Shalla's arm, wrenching hard. "You're never going to forgive me for going back to Wes, are you?"

Shalla pulls her arm from Inyri's grasp roughly.

"Going to have to try harder to get what you want, Inyri. I'm not in the best mood, and a few bruises are hardly going to open me up."

"No, I wouldn't imagine so. It's not like you open up regardless." Inyri just grabs her arm again, yanking her forward, her face red and angry. "At least with Wes, he'll tell me, one way or another."

"Aw," she says sarcastically, "yay for him!"

This time, she doesn't pull out of Inyri's grasp. She just eyes her flatly, raising an eyebrow.

How far will she push her?

"Oh yes, yay for him." Inyri tilts her head up. "He's got me, after all. And you know what?"

Inyri twists Shalla's arm just barely. "The sex is even better when you're dating him. Huh. I'd forgotten."
